Nursing

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at the Touro University School of Health Sciences is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (www.ccneaccreditation.org).

Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public's health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing.

Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapy program is registered with the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency

The OPTR program is a certificate program registered with and accredited by the New York State Department of Education Office of the Professions. The OPTR program is accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Touro University is approved by the New York State Education Department Office of the Professions to provide mandatory continuing education (CEU) credits. The courses presented in the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program earn CEU credits in New York State, as well as collegiate-level credit.

CAPTE only evaluates entry-level DPT programs for accreditation. The orthopedic residency programs offered by Touro University are evaluated for accreditation by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education. Physician Assistant

Central Islip / Nassau University Medical Center Extension

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Touro University Physician Assistant Program located in Central Islip and its distant campus, located in East Meadow, sponsored by Touro University School of Health Sciences. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA standards.

Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2027. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA Policy. Manhattan

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Touro University Physician Assistant Program located in Manhattan, sponsored by Touro University School of Health Sciences. The next validation review of the Touro University Manhattan Physician Assistant program by the ARC-PA will be in 2024. Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. Middletown

The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the Touro University Middletown Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Touro University Middletown.

Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation-Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.

Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class.

Post-Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy

The PDPT program is registered with the New York State Department of Education, Office of the Professions. Graduates of the program receive a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Touro University is authorized by the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions to provide mandatory continuing education (CEU) credits. The courses presented in the Post-Professional DPT Program earn CEU credits in New York State, as well as collegiate-level credits.

Speech-Language Pathology

The Master of Science (M.S.) education program in Speech-Language Pathology (residential) at Touro University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, MD 20850-3289, or (800) 498-2071 or (301) 296-5700.
